Stopper and beer oxydation

Hi gang,

I am doing research on the factors that could impact beer oxydation after fermentation.
So far, I have been able to get interesting info about the use of HDPE bucket vs PET carboy.
But I have stumble on a thread where a guy stated that stoppers are also a contributor to oxydation.
That has piqued my curiosity, but I am not able to find any solid info on this.
It seems that the material used (rubber vs silicone vs wooden) has an impact.

Can you guys can help me with this?
Are you aware of any good articles on this (ideally scientific articles)?
Or simply, what are your thoughts on this?

Silicone in particular allows quite a lot of oxygen through. Search for OTR (oxygen transmission rate) of different plastics/rubbers to find articles.

HOWEVER, constant generation of CO2 by the fermentation should effectively negate oxygen transmission through the airlock, assuming you are spunding or otherwise packaging ASAP when fermentation completes. Letting the beer sit in the fermenter isn't doing it any favors regardless of the airlock type.
