Who says reds/ambers have to be ales? This beer knocks the ball out of the end zone! Very good, malty, good head, great color. I wasn't aiming for a Smitty clone, but it's spot on.
9 lbs Pilsner (2 Row) UK (1.0 SRM)
1 lbs 8.0 oz Caramel/Crystal Malt - 60L (60.0 SRM)
1 lbs Caraamber (36.0 SRM)
8.0 oz Cara-Pils/Dextrine (2.0 SRM)
8.0 oz Caramel/Crystal Malt -120L (120.0 SRM)
8.0 oz Melanoiden Malt (20.0 SRM)
1.00 oz Fuggles [4.50 %] - Boil 60.0 min
1 Whirlfloc Tablet (Boil 15.0 mins)
1.00 oz Fuggles [4.50 %] - Boil 15.0 min
2.0 pkg Saflager Lager (DCL/Fermentis #W-34/70) Yeast
This is only the 3rd pour from the keg. I did also add gelatin because I want it super crystal clear. It's already clearing up on the 4th pour, and I suspect by 5 or 6 it will get all that gunk out.
