Figured I would share this:
I'm sure there are plenty of other options out there, and depending on what your LHBS has, you may have much simpler solutions.
For me, in Cincinnati, I couldn't find a good solution for 6mm (or 1/4") tubing that would also fit any variation of the gas disconnects I had available.
I work in the automation industry so I went through an SMC pneumatics catalog and found:
TU0604 - 6mm tubing (blue)
TU0805 - 8mm tubing (clear)
KQ2H06-08A (8mm - 6mm reducer fitting)
I stuck with the typical 3/8" barb gas disconnect. It was a bit tight with the 8mm tubing but a few minutes of wiggling and pushing worked.
Every region of the US has a distributor for a pneumatic line, and the fitting is a few bucks, and they will almost guaranteed cut you a few feet of the tubing for a buck or two, in my case it was free...
