What is a best practice for re using oak chips? My initial thought would be to sanitize again in vodka and only use in similar or complimenting batches. Would multiple or extended sits in vodka be beneficial to reset them?

Chips seem to be relatively inexpensive, but trying to extend their life if possible. Thanks!

I would reuse chunks, not chips. If the flavour's out, it's out. I would then use them in the smoker or grill, as mentioned. I'm busy building a pile of fingers to use in the smoker. Can't wait.

Yeah I should've been more careful with my words, talking about cubes. And the ones I'd be most interested in the re using are french oak. We do a lot of wood heat so have plenty of oak laying around to experiment with.
