I'm looking to plant some centennial hops, but when looking at the website for Centennial rhizomes it states the following: They grow well in most climates, but NOT wet coastal climates.

Has anyone in Seattle had success growing centennial?

I'd like to piggyback on this. I have the same question. I'm looking for some varieties to go with a west coast IPA. I'm in love with centennial and cascade varieties. Everything I've read has said that cascade shouldn't be an issue, but centennial may not like the soil/weather here. Anybody out there that's successfully growing centennial in the PNW?

Should this variety be avoided in this area? I think I know the answer, but please satisfy my curiosity:)

I'm picking up a couple centennial rhizomes next week. If I remember this thread at the end of the season then I'll update it with my findings \:)/. Who knows, the info may be useful to somebody down the road.

Where did you purchase the centennial rhizomes from? I know this is the time of year but many sites I go to say they can't ship to Washington due to agricultural restrictions.
