My second all grain batch. It’s a smash beer with marris otter and home grown Zeus hops. Original gravity was 1.064 and final gravity is 1.010 but it doesn’t look good. Can anyone help

It kinda looks like a lot of the hops never made it into the beer. Bummer.

I agree it doesn't look or sound convincingly like a contamination.

If you're bottling, just keep a close eye on the carbonation.

Good luck!

Did you use Whirlfloc or Irish moss? It almost looks like dry hops were thrown in and stayed afloat then Krausen stayed on top of that....but with that slimy protein brain looking stuff that happens with whirlfloc.

Of course if it smells and tastes like cider it could be infected.

Bummer.

Not the photos it is pink. I did use Irish moss and when I threw in the dry hops there was still a big head of foam. So hopefully it’s just krausen. I drank the hydrometer sample last night and it tasted ok so I am going to bottle and hope for the best. Thanks
