Offering a Stout Tanks 20 gallon conical fermenter on wheels in great functional condition, and good cosmetic condition. 20 gallon size, perfect for 15 gal finished batches. Has some faint superficial exterior scratching (primarily on the lid), but the interior is still pristine, with no scratching. (My interior pic is not as good as it should be... there are some water residue spots that I didn't wipe. Interior is perfect.)
Asking $425. Located in LaPorte, IN, about an hour from Chicago. This fermenter will fit in the backseat of most midsize sedans, so you don't necessarily need a truck/van to move it.
I picked it up used a couple of years ago, and made some great modifications. I silver soldered a 1.5 TC fitting on the lid. Much more functionailty than the original 90 deg barb that was welded on on this generation of Stout fermenters. I also added an EZ clean ball valve with a welded diptube from Brewhardware.com (custom sized for this fermenter). These should be standard issue on ALL fermenters. The whole unit can be rotated, and you always know your orientation of the diptube based on the valve. Eliminates the extra (needless) TC connection on most diptube/valve setups where the diptube and valve are separate. The fact that it is also an EZ clean valve makes it "as good as it gets."
I recently replaced the wheels, as the old set was a bit rusty and ugly. It was a heck of a job getting one of the wheels off. ;-)
The new wheels are now very easy to take on and off - and as such, it fits very well in many medium sized upright freezers. (I'm sure it would fit in a bigger one with the wheels on.) I used it in a medium sized upright freezer with a temp control, and it worked great. No need for glycol chillers and coils when you can fit it in a ferm chamber.
I have a 1.5" thermometer (SABCO brand) that can be included if you'd like it. (I generally used a 1.5" thermowell on the side port for my temp control, but am keeping it for use with my other fermenters.)
Just downsizing at this time and making room in the basement. A great fermenter at a great price.
Please message me with inquiries. Thanks.
