You should totally try to make it out. It's a great club, especially if you are new to brewing as the demos and discussion are geared towards new brewers.
Not sure what you have up in that area, but Modesto is only about an hour or so from Concord, so you could always head over to MoreBeer. If you join a club, they give you a 10% discount in store.
My copy showed up last night. So far a great read. I have an out of town meeting tomorrow, so I'm looking forward to hiding in my hotel room and immersing myself in it tonight!
Congats!
That's a great shop. I found it sort of accidentally when I was in the city but had to leave before noon so wouldn't be able to get to City Beer since they didn't open until noon. At the time, I was at my sisters who lived at 15th and Geary, so it was perfect!
Yes!
Just kidding ;-)
You don't have to like these beers just because a lot of us do. That Anchorage Galaxy White is a fantastic beer IMO but doesn't mean you are going to like it. I tend to like the cat-pissy simcoe beers as well. It's just a flavor profile that I enjoy. Often times...
This is one of those things, that when it comes down to it, makes a lot of sense... We've just always been taught to transfer, etc, etc..
There's no reason this can't be the next trend in homebrewing :-)
Yes. I won't aerate when it's still hot. I transfer it hot to a cube and get all the air bubbles out. Then in the morning I will transfer to the fermenter and shake aerate it.
You really should make the time. They often have taproom only releases (100% Barrel DBA on nitro! :rockin:) and some pretty good food. Worth even just a quick drop in for a beer before hitting the hills to get back to the valley.
