SS Brewtech Chronical fermenter Brewmaster Edition

+1 to that. I have BME and really look forward to Unitank upgrade for higher pressure, spunding, etc. Still, you cant go wrong with BME. I love it.

    Best way to dry hop.

I've used muslin bags and just thrown them in. Recently, I like just throwing them in. I then use a filter like the one below from conical to keg to remove hop matter. When doing heavily hopped beer, I swap out the 100 micron mesh with just putting a muslin bag in the filter. Works well so far...

Inline Oxygen Kit vs Oxygen Wand

Just curious benefits of using inline oxygen from kettle to fermenter vs just using an oxygen wand once in fermenter. I've been debating making a move from my oxygen wand, but not sure if it's more convenient, makes it easier to hit 8 ppm, or other benefits of these inline kits? Any feedback...

    Cold crashing suck back solutions

For what it's worth, I use this system but with larger 64 oz mason jars vs the smaller standard size. So far works well, but I tend to cold crash 2 days in fermenter for most beers before transfer.

    HSA and whirlpool question

Nice! I like this idea. I've always just used aluminum foil sanitized over the top with small opening around the IC to allow DMS to escape. This looks to reduce o2 much more

    HSA and whirlpool question

Oh wow interesting, so do the float balls reduce the surface area for o2 exposure? Have you found them to help vs not using?

    DDH NEIPA Hops Conical Question

After you drop temp, do you raise temp back up for 2nd dh to help with aroma and also diaceytl rest?

    DDH NEIPA Hops Conical Question

I usually use muslin bags and take out first dry hop before adding second. I'm trying just free hop pellets this time. Per usual I'm probably over thinking it, so I'm just going to leave first dh and avoid dumping. Will report back.

    HSA and whirlpool question

When adding hops for whirlpool Ive been targeting 120 degrees to help with aroma. I start a whirlpool immediately after boil and use immersion chiller to get to 120 degrees. I then stop pump on immersion chiller and add my hops to steep for 30 min while whirlpool continues. I'm starting to...

    DDH NEIPA Hops Conical Question

Am I better off just doing a larger single dry hop <72 hours before kegging? I was wondering if benefit of ddh and dumping 1st hops out of conical a few days later (so they only a sit total of 3 days) and then a second round < 72 hours before kegging

    DDH NEIPA Hops Conical Question

I'm brewing a NEIPA this weekend and planning to do two large dry hop additions. One in a few days when primary fermentation slows down and then a second dry hop +7 days. I am planning to drop hop pellets in without any muslin bag. Question: should I dump the first hops that have settled out of...
