    Additions into Pressurized Sankey

Cool, good luck! Full disclaimer I've never tried this (I usually am lazy and just open it up and drop stuff in), but in theory it should work. Walk through each step in your head first...surprises under pressure can be exciting

    Additions into Pressurized Sankey

How much volume? If it's a small amount, fill some beer line with it, hook it up to your gas line and blow it in (remove the backflow preventer) Regulator -> gas/beer line filled with liquid --> liquid out on sankey w/floating backflow ball removed. Cap your gas out line or add a faucet...

Can/should you adjust the gravity after fermentation?

My advice: resist the urge to tinker with finished beer. With rare exceptions for me, my tinkering has made things worse not better. Take notes on what you wanted, and make adjustments on the next batch. Homebrewing is fun, and it's natural to want to "do something". More often than not "via...

    Brewed an Ordinary Bitter...

For me the key is using UK malt instead of US malt, regardless of color. And for my palette I prefer lighter crystals, but many use 120L+ and love them.

    Brewed an Ordinary Bitter...

This is a great thread. What are your go-to recipes? The one above looked great. There's a brewpub in my town (Texas hill country area) that focuses on British cask ales...bitters/milds, all with hand pumps. Apparently the owners spent some time in the UK and had the same reaction all of us...

    Kegging resources

Do you have a local homebrew shop? If so that may be a great starting point - they can show you the various parts, walk you through a full setup, and guide you as you get started. I remember being overwhelmed at first, and seeing the parts in person made it really easy to understand. Basically...

    Texas Dripping Springs, TX brewers?

Any brewers on here near the Dripping Springs / Bee Cave area? I know there are multiple homebrew clubs in the Austin area, but what about the western suburbs? I was talking to the head brewer at a brewery on Fitzhugh road and he expressed an interest in hosting something for homebrewers at...

    Campden tablets

If I recall, 1 tablet of the sodium version adds 6ppm of sodium to 5 gallons. Not much.

    Gravity or No Gravity……

Key question right here. If it tastes good, congrats! You've made beer! Relax, don't worry, have a homebrew. I agree with others, I bet your OG reading was just off. 1.016 is a perfectly reasonable FG.

    Pouring Undercarbonated Bottles into Keg?

If you'll be with a lot of people for Thanksgiving I'd go the keg route. Carb up and drink fast. Not ideal, but sure is simple. Re-priming and tinkering with a whole batch doesn't sound appealing to me.

    Duotight inline regulator leaking

I set up Duotight for gas with closed transfers/spunding because of the ease of it. I considered switching the rest of my gas setup over, but after chasing leaks in setting up my transfers & spund I decided against it. Right now I have everything at the same pressure so that hasn't been a driver...

    Duotight inline regulator leaking

Bummer about the tank. I've done the same - not tightening enough. I've loved duotight for liquid - I've never had a leak, and if it does leak it's obvious. Gas is sneaky. FWIW, after chasing a few leaks I've reverted to vinyl/barbs for gas.

Which type of smoke should I add to my Wee Heavy?

Black Isle! That's the one. Great spot. Was not expecting a place like that in northern Scotland. Just didn't love their hoppy offerings. I pretty much stuck to cask ales/bitters the whole time. I do recall a few barrel-aged winners too. I love a west coast IPA or Texas pecan smoked beer as...

Which type of smoke should I add to my Wee Heavy?

That actually looks pretty great. HBT never disappoints. Cheers Alex!

Which type of smoke should I add to my Wee Heavy?

Good points PVT. I agree. There's a lot of calling things what they aren't these days and I'm not a fan.
