    Brewzilla Gen4 Discussion/Tips Talk

Go to this link: https://www.kegland.com.au/products/brewzilla-65l-gen-4 Download the manual, and the "default" settings are on page 35 in the table. Those settings are very different from what the BZ65L was first released with. Perhaps it neuters the PID down some, but I can say it is working...

Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

I've been tempted to buy my first, non-Tesla EV, but think I need to wait until NACS in on the car I am looking for. For example, the Mach-E California edition is a >300 mile range EV that priced to sell right now, but with a CCS charge port. Maybe all the issues are being worked out, but I am...

    Whale Pod Shipper Introduction

Love, love, love Whale Pod products. I ship about 2 times a month, mostly for competitions, and I've been exclusively using Whale Pod 6-bottle packs for about 8 months. Never had a single one broke with Whale Pod, and still easy to package up and ship out.

    Brewzilla Gen4 Discussion/Tips Talk

I bought one of the first Gen4 65L's in the US and been using it for about 17 months and around 34 batches. I usually brew 5.75 gal batches, but have done 8 & 11 gallon batches as well. Tried every combination of PID settings, BT themometer and HED use that I can think of. Watched the David...

    WLP838

Just used this yeast on a Munich Helles. Based on how quickly it fermented at 50F and the initial taste test result, I will definitely use this yeast again. For the maltier german lagers, this is my new go-to.

    Brewtools B40Pro Questions - Jaded Hydra, 110V vs 220V

As someone considering moving to the B40pro 240V, the above statement about the 220V version having two power plugs made my heart skip a beat. Then I realized that I already had a 240V power plug, not a 220V plug. Perhaps the 220V one is the Euro version. For clarification only, the 240V US...

In search of...predictable mash efficiency for differing batch sizes & gravities

I am honestly surprised there were no comments to this, good/bad or indifferent. Not useful, or no other thoughts on this?

Grainfather G40 vs. Brewzilla Gen 4

I've been with Brewzilla since the 3.1.1 version, and brew on a 65L Gen4 right now. I've been tinkering and experimenting with settings for a year (HED in, HED out, PID on, PID off, Bluetooth thermometer primary, PID water tests, using Kegland settings, using David Heath's settings, etc) and...

Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

Any Ford Mach-E owners here? Local dealerships have a lot of cars stacked up with low prices, incentives and low to no APRs. California Route 1 version has 312 miles of range and looks great. It's not a NACS plug car (yet), but Ford is supposedly shipping out CCS to NACS adapters to work on...

    SVBS and hop pellets

In my Brewzilla, I use cheap, muslin bags to contain my hops and use a 95% hop utilization rate in Brewfather. Seems to work well, and easy to clean up afterwards. No clogged pumps. Hops are extremely toxic to dogs, so I am careful to get every bit in cleanup. I also use a Blichmann Hop Rocket...

In search of...predictable mash efficiency for differing batch sizes & gravities

I am relatively new to competitions and often try very hard to 'hit' the Brewfather predicted OG & FG. Makes me very happy when a beer turns out pretty close or exactly as predicted. And, brewers often mention that predictability and consistency are cornerstones to great brewing. I was lucky...

    Flotit

Count me as another very happy Flotit 2.0 user. Bought 5 or 6 of them and never had a problem. Beer is definitely clearer out of one, but it's also really great for keeping out keg-hopped gunk out of the posts. I also have a random assortment of kegs and keeping which liquid tube goes with which...

    Brewzilla Gen4 Discussion/Tips Talk

I am using a brew bag from (The Brew Bag-Designed for Brew In A Bag-This is your LAST brew bag!) sized for outside the malt pipe, and it works very well. Used this setup for almost a year. Every batch the bag catches about 1/8lb of malt 'gunk' and I have never had a clogged pump when using it.
