    I’m planning on making a 5 gallon ipa extract kit and adding jalapeño for some spice. My question is how many jalapeños should I add and when do I add them? The boil? Fermentation?

    Awesome, that is what I was thinking just wanted to check before I screwed up a batch. Yes I do remove from heat before adding the LME :D Thanks Guys :mug:

    As the title says, every extract kit I've done so far has turned out darker than what the description should be. For instance, I just brewed the NB dead ringer and its the color of a brown ale. I'm following the instructions NB sent with it. I think it could be I'm adding the LME to soon and...

    So I'm watching extreme cheapskate with SWMBO and this guy says he has a passion for beer. His "passion" is he takes crap beer and puts it in "premium" beer bottles to serve to his family and friends. WTF

    I don't have a temp controller. I have the freezer on loan from SWMBO. She's not using it right now so she gave me permission to use it.

    Sorry I didn't specify where I was. I'm right out side of Tacoma. I don't have a spare fridge or anything like that. Thanks for the info, I'm looking forward to starting brewing again.
