Hopefully this forum is still active. It’s been awhile since I last checked. I’m in the process of upgrading my computer and need to transfer my BC activation. I’ve downloaded the latest version of BC and when I enter my activation email I get a message telling me to deactivate it my other...
I really like the Belle Saison yeast for the style. It has high a high tolerance for fermentation temps (up to 35º C / 95º F according to the Lallemend specs) and can actually benefit flavor-wise from higher than 'normal' fermentation temps (IMO it tends to bring out more of the pepper and clove...
PID Tuning: Below is a graph of my PID output simply trying to maintain a constant temperature at my MT recirc line. I'm using the default suggested settings (Kp = 30 / Ki =1 / Kd = 5). Just wondering if this is a normal output or if the curve can be smoothed out for tighter control. I get about...
With an electric kettle (HLT or BK) and a RTD (or other type) temperature sensor, is it okay to locate the temperature sensor directly above the heating element (about 4" above) or should these be offset by a number of degrees around the circumference of the kettle? (Assuming the heating element...
Sorry, it was a little out of context. I was trying to get a "message" to blink on and off in the workspace by looping and I mistakenly tried to assign a value to a sleep command (sleep = 1000). The script stalled and did not give an error message as to why, but it also shows that the script is...
A couple basic questions about scripts:
Is it possible to have BC start up with no scripts running, then use a device element (i.e. a button on the workspace) to start a brewing script?
Can BC be configured to open with the script window always closed by default and the workspace locked by...
Can the User Control property of an element (and global element) be enable and disabled with a script command? If so, what is the script command and syntax?
I think I may have my SSR's connected to the wrong port on the MEGA. I have standard SSR's connected to ports 42 and 43 using PID elements in BC. According to this I should have my standard SSR's connected to ports 44 & 45. I just want to be sure I'm reading this right.
