Have forgotten to post my last few roasts. So catching up:
There was also one batch today where Roast Time crashed, so that didn't get logged.
That makes 105 lbs exactly for me, and 623.1 lbs for the thread.
Yup. Makes roast day very convenient. I can do ~9 lbs in less than 2 hours, including setup and cleaning. With the Gene Cafe, that would have taken me literally all day.
I got some of this as well, roasted over the weekend, and am also enjoying it. Did you notice that it likes a LOT more heat during roasting than other beans?
We go through about 3 lbs/week, so I tend to buy about 3x/year. Roasting for me isn't so much about variety, but about the process, and about drinking coffee that doesn't suck. In order to do the latter, I can either pay $18-26/lb for somebody else to roast the coffee for me, or I can do it...
Speak for yourself. I've only had one order in the past 3 years that wasn't 50 lbs. :D I've stopped ordering from Sweet Marias, and instead go to their wholesale arm, Coffee Shrub. They only sell in two sizes--50 lbs or 132 lbs.

So now that I'm about 1.5 months in, I think I'm familiar enough with the machine that I can start looking for tips on technique. All I've been doing so far is trying to keep the RoR around 10C as much as possible by bumping the power up/down when it drifts too far off. I have no idea if...
Love love LOVE it. I roasted ~9 lbs yesterday in 2 hours, which would have taken me an entire day on the old Gene Cafe. And the results are SO consistent, even for a full Kg. So happy.
Still trying to figure out proper profile/technique, I'll probably bump my purchase thread to solicit...
Had a short session last night, got through half of the sampler that came with my roaster:
So that's 4.13 lbs, which puts me at 44.63 lbs for the year.
277.18 pounds total
